Moscatel is a fortified wine, historically from the region of Palmela and Setúbal. It has always been consumed by Kings in the past, such as Louis XIV who served Moscatel at his great parties in Versailles.
Moscatel is a wine that balances sweetness, freshness and alcohol and is made from the Moscatel de Setúbal or Moscatel Roxo grape varieties. Its color is golden and it has citrus aromas, but it is also sweet. This Moscatel wine tasting includes a guided tour of the vineyards and cellars and a tasting of 7 of the Moscatels from Quinta do Piloto, served with bread, cheese, and a mini Santiago pie.
